Oh yeah. [May. 12th, 2010|09:33 pm]
Kitsuja Argus
I forgot to post here about it.

My iPhone was stolen.

I was waiting for the bus by work. Someone asked me to use my phone. Being nice, I said sure.

They took off with it. And no one helped me while I was running my fat ass after them and yelling "HE HAS MY PHONE!"

So yes.

Those that really need to know do by now. But I am never lending my phone to anyone again. If I feel nice, I hope you enjoy speakerphone.

I am quite angry. So much so that I am finding it difficult to put it to words. On Tuesday, I had to deal with a bunch of girls bothering me at my desk, at closing time. I was, at the time, trying to finish my daily report before doing my final rounds. They wanted me to give them my pen. I said no. I told them to get out because we were closing. They didn't listen. Before I had the CHANCE to push the issue, one of the supervisors came up to get on my case about doing my rounds for closing. I thank the lady because, at the time, it felt like she helped me get rid of these girls.

Fast forward to today as I call my security boss to tell her I'm here. I find out today that I was complained about AGAIN. THIS TIME for the girls hassling me because I was "socializing"?!

WHAT?!

-WHAT?!-

I am SICK of these complaints. They've stepped up from nitpicks, to misunderstandings, and now outright lies, it seems. I'm here to protect these people. But they've stolen from me and now they lie and bitch about every tiny thing they THINK is wrong, to the point where it now risks my JOB.

I'll take graveyard shift if I have to, but I will not surrender my JOB for these fools to feel good about themselves.

Currently, I feel as though the world can just rot.

Screw you, Riverside Library. I am the best guard you have or will ever see, short of my boss. Don't bitch if you get me fired and suddenly you're dealing with drugs and prostitution on the property. AGAIN.

EDIT: I no longer work with the library system. On one hand, I kind of feel sad about it. On the other hand, I feel the change to the graveyard post is a much better place for me. At least there I can just do my job and have video and log proof of it so people cannot lie about me. Now if only the schedule change was easy to deal with.

The fox is can has iPhone nao! :D I picked it up yesterday evening, cause my other phone from Helio was giving me tons of shit regarding letting me hear the other person on the line. They could hear me, but I couldn't hear them. So it was new phone time. Switched providers too because of the phone being exclusive to at&t, and cause I like rollover minutes.

Also, this post is being made from my new toy. Hooray!!!

Site change. Now, instead of a Metrolink Station in Rancho Cucomonga, I work at a Library in the city of Riverside. Also, my car sucks, time to get a new ride.

Onto the bitching.

Today, I'm at work, and being as I'm a security guard in a library, I have to make rounds at least once an hour, and if I'm not, I can sit at my desk. The desk is so that if the librarians want me to do something, they can come get me without calling me on the radio. The desk also gives me a place to rest my feet.

As the day goes on, I eventually wind up reading at my desk during my breaks. My patrol takes about 20 minutes to a half hour. This leaves me with about a half hour to read a little as I rest my feet, because after a while, the walking takes its toll and makes my feet hurt like hell.

Now, when I'm reading, I'm also listening for prime disturbances in the library. Screaming kids, people being too loud, fights, cellphones, etc. And when someone asks for me to go do something, I'll get up and do it. Fairly easy to understand, right?

Well, today, it's close to closing. My feet are screaming for me to sit the fuck down because they've had enough, but I'm not done just yet. So I walk into the childrens room, the last destination of my patrol. I walk in, looking like my usual, neutral/serious self while on patrol, and I pause on my way out to talk to one of the pages. He seems like a nice guy, and while we're chatting, I say the word "Crap" a few times. Because, being as this is the childrens room, I'm not about to really curse.

Well, finally someone tells me that "Crap" isn't exactly allowed in the Children's room. I blink, and look around at the people I've been talking to -- people that KNOW this -- and say "...So why didn't anyone share this with me when I started saying it?"

The response is that they were "trying to be nice"... I respond with a statement of "Hey, if I'm doing something wrong, I'd rather you guys TELL me..."

At this point, the page I'd originally been talking to tells me, in response, that I should start working.

...excuse me?

What is, "A security guard doing his rounds?" for 2000, Alex.

The comment alone didn't get me so pissed, but it did irritate me. I left after that to finish my rounds and get my feet at least somewhat rested before closing. As I rested, I recalled that whenever I sat down, during a break, I'd always seem to wind up with a page coming up and asking me something or making some remark about the book I'm reading. Some of which sounded rather snide, as far as tone, like when I'm asked if the book I'm reading is good, or other comments.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it seems to me like someone isn't happy with the amount of work I'm doing, but doesn't have the balls to tell me, because they think I might tear them apart from crown to anus. Which I might.

Newsflash: Walking eventually hurts feets. When feets hurt, you rest so that you may continue walking later. And while resting, what better thing to do, in a library, other than READ.

In conclusion, you can all kiss my ass. Every single pale inch of it.

[Current Music |Madan Senki Ryukendo Theme]

The way things work for anyone who has a job is that they listen to their bosses. Boss tells you what to do, and as long as it's legal and it falls in your job description(and sometimes not in the description), you do it.

Inevitably, though, there will be someone, somewhere, who will appear from outside your company(and sometimes inside) who is not your superior, or anyone else that you answer to. They, however, have decided that they know just how your job should be done, and proceed to tell you that what you're currently doing is wrong, and maybe even illegal.

Well, most of you won't get the illegal part.

With me, however, I do need to worry about the legalities of my actions, given my position as a security guard. I am responsible for making sure that the company or site I am posted at is less likely to be liable for damages. For all intents and purposes, I am a uniformed, and paid, witness.

So when I went to work today, I was sure it was going to be just another day at a site where nothing ever happens. However, I went, and did my job, to ensure that I would continue to receive a paycheck. So I get to the site, relieve the guy there, and do my job. Now, I am very technically out of uniform, because I am wearing jeans. My slacks are messed up, and I'm taking them in to the dry cleaner's on Monday(tomorrow) to remedy this fact. In the meantime, though, I am wearing a pair of black boots(OK with uniform standards), my uniform shirt, a black T-shirt under the uniform shirt, my watch, a black baseball cap with no logo, and a black trench coat(because it was cold and a bit breezy at the time, it warmed up later). Now, the way my coat was worn covered up my patches on my shirt, but that is to be expected, given I'm wearing a -jacket-.

Now, since I'm at the site, doing my job, and keeping things safe(and keeping myself rather visible, as a visible guard(or even just a visible person) will deter a crime), when at approximately 17:50(5:50pm) I move on to the platform for the track furthest away from the parking lot, Track 1. On Track 1, a train was due to arrive in four or five minutes, heading to San Bernardino. Now, as I walk down the platform, I note that there is a man there. He's an older man, about late 30s or early 40s, white, with blond hair. As I walk past, I see him start dialing his cell-phone.

On my way back to the main platform, I overhear him talking on the phone, saying "Yeah, he's in a black trench coat, you can't miss him.", and that he should call the police. Well, that won't do. To help clear up this misunderstanding, I turn to him and say, "Excuse me, sir, but that's not needed. I'm the Security Guard for this station."

The man proceeds to snap at me, saying that he knows exactly who I am, and lectures me about my clothing, declaring that I was effectively illegal because none of my patches were showing, and that my coat was not allowed. He added that if it were up to him, he'd have me arrested, and threatened to call the police to do just that. I responded that if my attire was truly illegal, that the police had many many opportunities to do just that when I spoke with them and identified myself as the guard when they were unclear about this. I also said that if it were truly illegal, my supervisors would have told me as well, and that I would be wearing a company coat instead of my own personal coat.

This apparently ticked him off even more, and he declared that he didn't care, because he knew the rules, as he was an account manager administrator for a security company, and reiterated that my uniform was "illegal", and that I was out of uniform. I had my fill by this point, shook my head, and walked off.

When I heard him say something else, which I thought was directed at me, I turned back around and asked him to repeat it, because I hadn't heard him clearly. He snapped that he wasn't talking to me, but to the Metrolink official on the phone, and in fact, that he did not need me. After that, I walked off, and just continued my job.

Needless to say, I was rather pissed off. But Thankfully, he got on the next train and left.

I really hope I don't have to deal with this guy again. Or anyone like him. I'm surprised I didn't blow up at him and really tell him off as I would have so desperately loved to.

[Current Music |Kelly Osbourne - One Word]

Many odd things happen while I am at work. For those who don't know, I am a security guard. I work at a Metrolink station. Metrolink is an intercity public transportation system using trains. Anyhow, I'm at work, and this guy comes up, obviously just done shopping, given the shopping bags he has in hand. So he walks up to me and he says, in this lisp that wasn't QUITE the flaming gay lisp... "Hey handsome, when is the next train coming?"

So I give him the sideways look of "...the hell are you on?" and tell him the train is in fifteen minutes. After I say as much, I turn and start walking to go check on the rest of the station. He puts his hand on my shoulder to stop me, and says, "Why don't you stay a while, honey, and keep me company?"

Red flag alert! You do NOT touch the security guard. The guard may touch you back. And you will not like it.

So I turn my head to him and say, "If you don't remove your hand from me in the next three seconds, I will put my foot so far up your ass that your boyfriend will be jealous."

...I've never seen someone move so fast in my life.

one_amahira, thank you for doing my ranting for me, on the subject of Illegal Immigration.

These jokers in politics that are actually DEBATING over this need to be smacked upside the head and tossed out of office. Illegal Aliens should not be rewarded or pandered to by polititions for doing something against the law.

I am TIRED.

Taking an 8 hour shift after a 4 and a half hour shift, and winding up awake for a total of 19 hours before finally getting a chance to sleep = suck.

Pardon, I'm going to go collapse now. I am one tired rent-a-cop, and I have to be up before 2 so I can be at work by 3 for my normal friday shift. @.@

PS: I got a PS2, Kingdom Hearts, and MMX8 a couple days ago. I intend to fully enjoy this fact come my arrival home tonight, as I've been too busy to yet.

Also, you know you're tired when you start seeing sexual innuendo where it just isn't there, and you start giggling about it, then wonder why you saw the innuendo in the first place.

EDIT: fuckin' hell, they had me do another overnight shift after my normal one. I understand they like me, but you know, I MISS SLEEP. God. ;_;

I liked the post, though. Didn't need to go patrol, and my job was mostly just me taking paperwork from truck drivers coming in/out, and then raising the gate barriers for them once they gave 'em to me. Too bad the post won't be there for too much longer under WSA, given the stupidity and activity of some of the guards for the post. I'm tired, so I'll explain this later in more detail.
